How I Invented Skirt-Guard
Like many people, to support my family I had a full time job and a part-time job. The part-time job was a one man lawn-care business. A friend hired me to cut the lawn at his Mobile Home Park, and as I cut his lawn, I could not help noticing the many holes in the homes vinyl skirting.
Nice Homes. Fragile Skirting.
These were nice homes, but it seemed like the nicer the home, the more holes the people had torn in their skirting as a result of caring for them. Then a homeowner hired me to cut and trim around her home and I learned just how easy it is to damage vinyl skirting with a string trimmer.
I figured there had to be a way to protect the skirting, hide the holes and provide a surface that would be weed-wacker proof. After some experimenting with different plastics, and testing out a way to attach a guard to the skirting’s bottom track, I developed Skirt-Guard. After lots of time and money I got a patent on my product, and then the work began!
We have been in business for over 15 years now, and have sold hundreds of miles of Skirt-Guard all over the country (7 feet at a time). Thanks to the internet, we have been able to offer our product directly to the homeowner, at the best price possible, which was part of our business plan from the beginning. We know our product solves a common problem in a unique, ecconomical and easy way. We guarantee it!
Skirt-Guard has become my full time job, although I still have a part-time job. Work is good.
